Week 2

This week was still relatively relaxed since I have no upcoming tests.  In molecular biology class, we reviewed different techniques for determining information about DNA, RNA, and proteins.  This background information is useful for many of my classes, especially the bacterial genetics lab that I am currently in.  I had my first quiz in bacterial physiology on Tuesday, but that is the only class that has had any sort of quiz/test so far.  The professor is currently focusing on bacterial structure and mechanisms of replication before diving into harder, more in depth material.  The same is true in biochemistry – we are beginning with the basic structure of the essential amino acids and continuing into protein structure and methods of purification.
